Took my 7 yo son to the skate shop for a scooter. He had grown out of his micro a long time ago and needed an upgrade.
I didn’t tell him where we were going and he had never been to a skate shop.
We walked in and were instantly greeted by a friendly guy inventorying a rack of shirts. We browsed the floor then went over to the board area of the shop. Again we were greeted by another person who was very kind and helpful. NC had a great variety of Envy scooters for my son to choose from. The shop made it a fun experience and we ended up getting a great scooter that fit my son perfectly. We also picked up a helmet he loves and a pair of size 2 skate shoes he thinks are “cool”.
Very helpful, great selection, very nice people. Just a great shop.

First off I’d like to say that it’s hella cool to have a locally owned spot like NC Boardshop in our community. Looking for some gifts for my kids, I cruised past this store, and thanks to their small Open sign, I pulled over. While the building looked dark and closed in the evening, once you turn the corner you’ll see it’s open and well lit. They’ve got the goods like Salty crew and Santa Cruz stuff. Their own NC gear is cool too, and they’ve gotta great selection of sun glasses. For the sk8rs, they’ve got everything you need….and if you’re an oldschooler, you’ll appreciate the legendary decks displayed. Proud to spend locally at this spot. Plus…they’ve got hella stickers.

July 2, 2024. If you’re looking for a family core skate shop and not something corporate, don’t come here. This is not the place to go. After years of coming here I always get uncomfortable comments from Mike[tall old white dude} and I’m not the only one, I’ve heard countless stories of him making people uncomfortable. Today I went in for shoes and a blank deck, funds aren’t the best so I was looking at the 40$ shoes and after seeing there’s only 2 that weren’t appealing I went to look online. Mike then came up to me as I was sitting down if I needed help with anything, I told him no and I’m just looking online for something with a better price and already used to recycle. He then told me “looking at other people’s prices trying to get a better price is very looked down upon from a shop owner” after explaining my situation of shoes where I don’t really have the funds to buy top line shoes he went on to show me the 25% off shoes which are still over 40$ so it didn’t help at all and then continued to repeat “looking at other people’s prices trying to get a better price is very looked down upon from a shop owner” so I got my blank deck. Mob grip and left, this is not the first encounter like this from Mike and anyone from the San Jose skate scene has said the same thing including workers from that shop that I’ve talked to (not calling anyone out). I’m not one to write reviews are be harsh but he needs to stop coming at customers with such hostility. I hope the best for everybody at the shop including Mike and hope the hostility ends.

Super nice and helpful people working here. Went here during COVID and they had a nice setup where a lot of the boards and goods were on display, but you can shop safely from outside. Melissa helped me out and brought me all the 51/52 mm wheels for me to choose from. Good inventory, good people.

I wanted to try longboarding and found the staff exceptionally helpful in figuring out what styles of boarding that I wanted to try and the board that would best fit my needs. I was very impressed with their large inventory, especially with the limited supplies most vendors have right now. I'm currently having great fun riding the board I purchased from them.

Great store with people who care. Would rather sell boards they think are worth it and best for riders then make an extra buck. They also carry new items like Boosted Bored Mini X Felt very welcomed being new to area. They could have easily scammed me out of a few extra bucks, but didn't, so thankful

This is a great shop. They have a large variety of products, on top of being very knowledgable. I have bought 2 complete boards, shoes, and wheels from them now, and each time they have really informed me and took the time to make sure I was making a decision I'd be happy with. This is definitely my go to shop even though it's a bit far from my house.
