In a good location in between Atlantic Beach and Emerald Isle.
A few rooms were renovated in a HGTV show. The other rooms will be renovated one or two at a time following the style from the show.

We had 2 adults 2 kids. Emptied the car set up room to find out tv didn't work. Moved to way nicer room. But no internet for the 4 days we stayed. Towels and rags stained . Nobody come to ask if we needed towels we had to go ask for them.Shower curtain in both rooms too short so water went on floor. No ice machine. The board walk def needs lots of repairs. Staff was polite. But overall not sure I'd stay here again after all we went through they offered absolutely nothing for our inconvenience. And it's a long drive to get too food other than couple places. Lots of work needed here just not worth what u pay

Quiet. Fantastic air conditioning. Short walk to the beach. No ocean view really though. No room service. Friendly staff and super nice. Willing to help any way they can. Very comfy beds. The room we stayed in was a full kitchenette and 2 queen beds. All appliances worked. Advice: bring your own coffee and creamer for the coffee maker. They have plates in the cabinet but we just bought plastic utensils so we didn’t have to wash dishes on vacation. They also have pots and pans you can use. Nice hot showers and soft towels. All in all, good place to stay for a night or two. I love it there. ❤️

Wonderful Affordable Family Friendly Beachfront Motel!! We stayed here 2 nights and Had a Great Time!! We loved that there was no carpet lovely gray wood floors!!! Huge Room with Kitchenette!! We are a family of 5 with small budget this was Exactly what we needed. Boardwalk over the Dunes to Gorgeous Open Beach!!! The Owners have literally just taken over are working non stop to revive this hidden gem!! It will be Beautiful when they're finished! The Owners Were Very Helpful with TV Extra towels blankets etc. Some construction materials in parking lot but not intrusive, & No Bugs In our Room!! Thank you We will Be Back!!

My boyfriend and I were looking to go to a more private beach that would allow our dog to enjoy his first beach trip. We found Indian Beach, which seemed beautiful, and it was. The only place to stay was Oak Grove Motel for our selected dates. Based on reviews on several different sights, it looked alright. We didn't expect frills or to be pampered and we knew it would be outdated, but we did not think it would be as dirty as it was. We arrived after dark due to the 5 hour trip, so we couldn't see too many issues when we walked in our room. But later on that night we found a cockroach hiding under the desk and the floor was full of sand, like it hadn't been swept before our arrival. I was cautious after this but we still decided to stay. When we were ready for bed there seemed to already be sand in the beds, and we hadn't been to the beach that night. It was also muggy, but turning on the air conditioner way like having a jet take off next to your window all night. The walls are incredibly thin, and it didn't feel like anyone next to us or above us understood that. The towels were actual beach towels and didn't do a great job at much of anything. The sheets and blankets were scratchy, but that's expected with a cheap place to stay. We had booked 3 nights, but only stayed 2. Our second day we decided to get a full maid service while we went to dinner. I specifically asked for new sheets due to the sand, the floors swept, and new towels. After dinner we returned to find that the towels were restocked, but the floor didn't look swept and we noticed that the beds were only re-made. Not changed or even shook out. I decided to strip the bed and shake the sand out myself. When doing this I found several nasty looking stains on the sheet we never slept on, knowing it wasn't caused by us. We went to the front office to ask for new sheets and she stated it was no problem and would bring us some in a few minutes. Hours went by, still no sheets. They didn't seem like they cared too much that we were unhappy, so we left a day early. Overall, this place needs a good cleaning, quieter air conditioners, and friendly service.

I should have listened to the reviews. This place is not on the beach. If you are planning on staying at the beach all day, you have to go to the public beach access. It is not easy to get chairs and coolers to the beach using the boardwalk behind the motel. It took two days to cool the room down. We were only on the room for sleeping and bathing. There was no housekeeping even though I was told at check in they would come by daily. The coffee pot in our room was disgusting and we has roaches. The good part was the beds, they are comfortable. The swings and rockers are a nice touch. I go to the beach to actually go to the beach. When the description says ocean front, I expect ocean front. I travel with my family and we stay in simple places. We do not expect a whole lot from the motels we stay at. I just want to sleep in a clean ,air conditioned room. This was not it.

The staff was very nice, accommodating, and thoughtful. The private walk to the beach and outdoor shower were beautiful and useful. The rooms are spacious and the kitchen has all amenities. We found this to be everything we expected for a great price and perfect getaway. Thanks.

Stayed here one night as we were traveling up the coast. Simple, quiet, very nice place in a great location for a good price. Clean, taken care of rooms. Perfect for those more interested in getting out on the beach rather than staying holed up indoors. Staff was super nice. Lovely walkway leading to the almost completely secluded beach, not surrounded by huge hotels loaded with people. We stayed out on the beach for a good amount of time and only saw a handful of people. Great location for hunting seashells, made several interesting finds.We will definitely go back for a longer stay.
