I came out here with a surf board and wet suit rentals from On The Beach Surf Shop in an attempt to catch my first wave. The beach is beautiful and clean. The waves are pretty nice for beginners and first-timers.

Stop here every time we are in Monterey. Awesome shop, fun and helpful staff. Let me cruise in with my Ridgeback dog and all the employees play with her while we shop. Would have bought more this weekend but only had the car rather than the truck. LOL Thanks!

This is THE surf shop on the Monterey Peninsula, huge store with everything you need to surf, skate, snowboard or spend time “on the beach.” They have a friendly staff, an owner who knows how to treat customers, a huge selection of everything and the second best aquarium in town. Centrally located two blocks up from famous Cannery Row, and within a quick drive to the choice surf spots in Monterey, Pacific Grove, Carmel, Seaside and Marina.
