Immediately off the bat, I was excited to go to what I assumed would be a welcoming ladies’ pleasure-centered shop. As someone who goes to as many sex shops as possible, this is the most disappointing in terms of selection, products they did have, and customer service.

The woman who was at the counter did not welcome us when we entered and gave us the impression of not wanting us there since she was in the back room before noticing we came in. She was completely withdrawn on her phone and we asked how much stuff was she said “I don’t know” then after a few seconds said “I’ll check” in a way that seemed like we were annoying her. Once we were at the counter to purchase, we asked how she was doing and said “has it been busy?” gauging if maybe she was just busy. We tried giving her the benefit of the doubt since it was during the days leading up to Valentines and she replied very coldness that “it hasn’t really been.”

When it comes to the products themselves, there are items caked in dust and really outdated, there is little to no labels on how much things cost are.

There is not good selection of toys or lingerie. Items were not very organized and it just felt very empty. The dust makes everything look dirty and makes the experience unappealing.

The first time I came here I walked in and was told they were closed. I told the cashier their hours must be wrong on Google, apologized, and left. I tried coming back again and they were "open" but the door was locked with a sign that said "back in 15 minutes." I waited 20 and no one came out, and saw 4 other would-be customers come up and check the door then just walk away instead of trying to wait. My bet is whoever was working was hanging out at the dispo next door instead of doing their job. Will not be trying to come back again.

My girlfriend and I entered oh lala on a whim during her birthday weekend in Monterey, and we were NOT disappointed! The amazing goddess working the store was very knowledgeable and respectful in sharing her experiences and we had a great time checking out the wonderful selection as we laughed with her about everything. It was a very personable and enjoyable experience and we left the shop with not only a fun new birthday gift for us but we had fun feeling like we also made a new friend. Overall we will be back again and again, even inspite the 4 hour drive,for such a wonderful place with great selection and even better employees!!

Being in the Monterey for just one day my husband and I happened upon this shop. This was probably one of the best customer experience Moment I’ve ever had. We had a very specific need and the staff went above and beyond chatting with us and helping us find what we needed. Even further than that hooked us up with some resources for why we were in town. We will be sure to visit again when we are back in a few months!!!

Lovely little boutique. The woman who was there Saturday night was so helpful and friendly. She asked if there was anything we were looking for or if we needed help. When I had questions about a toy she was knowledgeable and very straightforward. I found something I wanted however it was out of stock. She did offer to ship it to me since we are from out of town but i wanted it now lol. That was really my only complaint. Otherwise it was nice.

Nice store but I had a bad experience. I should have left at the first whiff of nail polish, rude remark, or any aloof and condescending action. I was so tired and everything is overpriced. They should have sold me the sample size lube instead of a $10 tea light. Never going back.

Stopped by this place... Generally thinking it would be a typical “Sex Shop” I was welcomed by the store manager who lets just say was a breath of fresh air! She explained that they were and Adult Intimacy Boutique! And by the the time I left I understood why! I mean I told this girl everything and she never made me feel uncomfortable and helped me with things I didn’t even know I needed! She explained everything in detail and was super funny while doing so! I spent wayyy less than I intended to spend and walked out with so much more than I planned to get in a great way! If you’re ever in the area stop by and Denay will get you right!

Visited Monterey from the Bay and I’m impressed with this store. I love their focus on education—both for their staff members were great. This is my first visit to the new store and the staff was friendly and helpful, never intrusive. I love OOH LA LA MONTEREY!
