I recently visited Planet Earth Gallery in PA with my girlfriend, and while the store itself is charming—filled with cute trinkets, crystals, and handmade items, I had an unfortunate experience with the staff that left a bad taste.

We are from NYC and, on that day, were dressed in leather jackets and combat boots, which may have made us stand out. As we were browsing, I was admiring the terrariums and was considering purchasing several. I walked into the adjacent room where they sell handmade books and an older female staff member approached me and accused me of putting a book in my pocket. I was confused, so I immediately emptied my pockets to show that I only had my phone and keys. She nervously apologized, claiming it was a mistake, and that her boss is constantly monitoring the cameras due to theft.

I understand the need for security, but I felt unjustly accused. If you’re not sure, maybe consider improving your camera system rather than jumping to conclusions. It’s disheartening to be treated with suspicion, and it made me question whether our appearance—dressed in a way that doesn’t fit the local look, or me being BLACK had anything to do with the interaction.

I was respectful and explained that I felt offended, but the staff member only became more nervous and distant. My girlfriend and I decided to leave, which was disappointing because we had been genuinely interested in purchasing several items.

For fellow minority tourists, I want to caution you that you may be watched closely and treated with suspicion here. It's a shame because the store has potential, but I won't be returning after this experience.

And we were the only 2 customers in the store on a Thursday afternoon.

Holy smokes, this place has it all! So many spiritual type things, perfect for gifts or someone just getting into it. They have a lot of high fantasy figurines (fairies, dragons, mermaids) ranging in prices from $4 to over $1k. They had a hefty selection of dream catchers, crystals, incense (and holders), candles, tarot cards, and so much more. They also had small collections of resin art, lawn items, plushies, and misc. decor. I got there an hour before closing, and it wasn't enough time.

Planet Earth Gallery is our go to shop when visiting the Poconos. They have a huge selection of Crystals, Jewelry and fun gifts for the whole family. The staff is always warm and helpful.

I highly recommend Planet Earth Gallery. You won’t be disappointed!

When I'm looking for something truly unique to give us a gift, or just want to find something for myself, this is a great little gift shop. I love walking room to room and checking out all of the neat items that they have tucked away in all the shelves and spaces. Just a great little stop if you're in the area!

Stopped for my daughter and her friend could browse the shop that carried crystals to candles and a little of everything in between. They both found gemstone bracelets and very nice earrings. I snapped a few photos while browsing before I saw the sign that banned taking photos, oops my bad!

Very nice. A lot of items are packed in a small area. Varied and wide selection of statues of all sorts, stones and crystals, bells and wind chimes. We bought a couple of items and will return again. Very nice customer service.
Took one photo before being advised that the owner doesn't like photos to be taken.

Disappointing. The store’s contents have potential but the staff must be very nervous about theft since they accuse anyone of stealing. It ruins the experience.
