In a time where customer service is at best circumstance.. this store rises above "Riley" Not only met a special request but tried to refuse a tip upon completion.. and "Cathy" was able to ring up the order with me saying I'm not sure but order 500... really really great store.. it's so refreshing

My first time in about a year ago to get coffee was late night after work to get coffee for the long ride home, I brought my own cup and had a splash of coffee left in it, I went to the soda machine to empty it because I did not see a sink nearby to dump it, the lady from behind the front counter yelled at me very loudly across the room " don't you dare dump that in there" I turned and asked where could I dump out my old coffee, and she said " I don't know but don't you dare dump it down that drain. I went into bathroom and emptied my cup
A few weeks later, again late night after work I was in getting coffee and a gentleman was at the kiosk ordering food, a young boy snapped at him " we are not taking anymore food orders!"
Last night again after work I stopped for coffee and decided to top my tires off with air. Mind you, I am partially deaf and I do not hear well at all, anyway I pulled up, selected 32 psi, and put the air chuck to my tire, within a short time, my tire was flat! The compressor would not come on and inflate my tire, but was letting air out. I went inside to see if maybe they could reset the air pump. I told her what happened, she threw her hands up in the air and said I can't help you get a man to help you. A gentleman customer offered to come help, he tried also to inflate my tire to no avail, I went inside again to get fix a flat, the lady told me it wasn't going to be able to help, that I should have noticed the compressor not coming on, that I should have heard it, mind you, she knows I am very hard of hearing, she knows this!
Anyway, I ended up getting fix a flat, got enough pressure in my tire, and drove down the street to 7 11 and inflated my tire and drove home.

I marked this place as 5 star originally until I met the old white lady that works the night shift and loves lying about alcohol sales and times I’m not going to talk about her being rude as well lol

Ordered hotdogs…they weren’t edible. They must have been on the grill for 10 hours. Hard as a rock, like hotdog jerky. Looked like an extremely old man’s unmentionable. There’s no way the employee didn’t notice it, he did and just decided to serve them to me anyway. Yuck 🤢 ate the bun though, that was pretty good.

We placed our order, we were the only ones there at that point ordering food. We were traveling, and needed to just grab a quick bite & get back on the road. The workers that were back in the food prep area disappeared and left one girl to put together our order. That girl proceeded to prepare an employee a sandwich first. Understandable, but then stood chit-chatting wit her for several minutes. Meanwhile we are standing there. Then another employee came over, and she stood chatting with that employee... Ignoring the sandwiches she started (missing the bacon I paid extra for on one. We caught it- but it took even more time then for her to re-do it) Then, the girl she made the sandwich for, came out into the food prep area with the half eaten sandwich and proceeded to put it in one of the grillers... Ew? This is the point where my husband got upset. Just unacceptable. I'm sot sure how long we waited while they stood around chatting, felt like 15-20 minutes, but we grabbed our meal and just got back on the road once it was handed to us.
We have seen customer service decline everywhere since covid, but, unless people bring it to attention, perhaps nothing will ever change.
We love Rutters, and were so disappointed by our experience at this location.

At Rutter's #56, Customer Service is second to none. The Deli area, restroom facilities, dining area, and the cashier lines are clean beyond description. Why go anywhere else? Rutter's Store #56 would make the Good Housekeepers Seal-of-Approval, and would be the Top-Rated Convenience Store in all of South-Central PA. Special kudos to Store Management, who make a special effort to make your visit pleasant. Again I ask: "Why go anywhere else?"

How many times am i gunna ask for my wrap to be toasted and it not happen? this is the third time in a row i’ve watched them look at the screen and completely ignore it clearly saying toast. i’m also done paying for double cheese because obviously they only put one scoop regardless of what you pay for. i worked here, there is no excuse for this.
