Great convenience store with unique finds. A bit cluttered with items towering over you as you walk through. Seems like they're trying to fit a lot of stuff into a small space. I wanted to love the food so bad but the flavors were just missing it for me. Both items were sour and inedible. Naan was light and fluffy. Samosa were very tasty. Staff were very helpful. Glad to have a store in town where I can find items to cook Indian dishes. Will visit again for the samosa but will probably pass on the hot food items.

It was a nice surprise to find that this place sells Indian food. The food was good and the prices were very reasonable. The are picnic tables outside if you want to eat. This side of the island doesn’t have an Indian restaurant so I will definitely be back here when I’m craving Indian food.

The chicken was too hard( probably overcooked and old), and rice 5 undercooked we told the guy on counter (apparently, Owner) he said "that's ok koi baat nahi and laughed "

Eat here only if you have no other options left i believed on overall 4 rating and ignored other 1 star ratings !! Don't repeat my mistake.

You can smell the fresh curry and spices from down the street. Great place with lots of good stuff to buy in the store and food was awesome. Definitely recommend the samosas!

So flavorful! Everything I got was good ! Single dish - Naan with okra.
Combo - rice and naan with Chana masala and dal.
I think we’ve found our fav local Indian kitchen.

Thrilled to have a one-stop Indian store in Alameda! I'm so excited to have discovered a comprehensive Indian store in Alameda, conveniently stocked with all the essentials we need.

The store offers an impressive range of food options, including delicious home-style North Indian dishes that remind me of authentic flavors. This has been a lifesaver, especially during our kitchen renovation when cooking at home was a challenge.

Previously, we had to travel to Fremont for small items, but now we can find everything we need right here in our own town! Kudos to the store for catering to the local Indian community's needs and providing a welcoming shopping experience. I'm grateful for the convenience and variety they offer, and I look forward to continued patronage.
Only one little suggestion to keep some Indian veggies including curry leaves , green chilies etc

Wonderful place! The samosa was delicious! I really do love the food here. I purchased and candy bar. It was rotten. The clerk told me that it was a funny color because it was from Europe! 😆. I didn't want to argue with him. Even though I knew what he said was BS. Now I feel uncomfortable about eating here. What a strange thing for him to say. I'm sad because I've REALLY enjoyed the food. I walked out and threw the $3.00 chocolate bar away. I hate making a scene over $3 dollars. This business has worked really hard to build a wonderful reputation. For that reputation to be undermined by 1 obnoxious clerk who couldn't just give me another product. Is really unfortunate. Candy gets old. No big deal. Im a loyal customer. It will be a while before I go back. They have the most delicious freshly cooked food.

Shanvi is a decent space to get fast casual Indian food.

While they're out of a lot of things and the dishes are pretty sauce heavy, it's good for a lot of comfort food. If they narrowed down the menu and got more staff, this place'd really stand out.
