We were in Mammoth for five days this time and we were at the bakery shop every single day from the day we found it.
can’t believe we’ve never been there before and it’s just amazing!
the coffee the tea… I love how they brew the tea specially, a lot of choices to choose from!
the croissants are amazing the texture, the flavor and the sausage and eggs they put in between. And also, they have fresh sandwiches in the other side of the hall. We love the roasted turkey which is flavorful.
We absolutely love that their desserts there. The cinnamon roll would be my favorite.
I guess the service quality really depends on which waiter or waitress…
after all we will be back again once we’re back in Mammoth.

They have the best donuts and pastries, hands down! Everything I've tried has been good. They cut the turkey fresh for their sandwiches. Everyone is very friendly, and the atmosphere is welcoming.
I love this place! I grew up in California, my family would visit Schat's in Bishop whenever we were up that way. I haven't lived in CA for a very long time, but we visit periodically. I discovered the Schat's Bakery in Mammoth a couple years ago on one of our trips. Now it's a must on our list - we go miles out of our way to get some baked goods; & we get extra to take on the road with us!

Best treats here! Yummy donuts, breads and sweet treats. This location has a sandwich shop as well. It's right on main street. Don't miss it.

Good reliable bakery serving a variety of bread loaves, oversized donuts, made to order sandwiches and European sweets. Can be really crowded at the weekend and during peak times throughout the summer/winter holiday season.

Got an eclair and it was so moist and fluffy. A bit on the pricey side but The creme inside was fresh and home made. They also have a HUGE selection of teas so if you like tea then this is your place. I got the Vanilla Creme and it was delicious. Also a sandwich shop inside.. I didn't get lunch but plenty of people did and they all looked very good

Sandwich shop is 5 stars, bakery is 3.5. Sandwich shop prices are high, though considering where you are they aren't awful (Probably best sandwiches in Mammoth Lakes). Bakery is way over priced, and the donuts are lousy. (Look nice but stale) Restrooms are nice. Staff are fine. Plenty of parking. Entrance, restrooms, seating, and counter are accessible. Staff can be interesting. Will always stop for a sandwich when in the area.

This cake was amazing.. The addition of a mix of nuts added the perfect crunch, nutty flavor, it balanced the sweetness perfectly. It looked as good as it tasted. I definitely recommend it.

Since my Oma passed away, Schat's bakery has become one of my go-to for nostalgic baked goods. Whenever I'm in Bishop or Mammoth California, I make sure to stop by this Dutch bakery.

Their coffee and pastries are a comforting way to start my day, reminding me of timed spent with my grandmother.

The cashier was friendly and courteous. Easy to parking spots.
