Modesto you were just given a blessing. I remember SF Market from growing up in the East Bay. Theres a fish section that is unmatched by any of the other local stores. Isle after isle of reasonably priced dry goods with a huge focus on items necessary when cooking. They have a nice fresh produce section also. Comparing prices the numbers don’t lie, you pay a bit less here for many things. Highly recommend a visit next time you are grocery shopping especially during the holidays if you are baking.

Came by today to check it out I love it! So glad it opened. I'm from the Bay area which has a lot of Asian and ethnic food. So spoiled.

So glad to see representation in Modesto.

I was like a giddy kid in a candy store. Went up and down the aisles. They've been open since October and super clean and well organized. You must check it out If you're curious or into ethnic cooking. Giant vegetable section, a. Butcher and fishmonger. Have never seen so many different kinds of fish balls.

They have a lot of Vietnamese stuff but also some Thai and Japanese and even general purpose items. I've never seen so many different kinds of seitan or fried gluten before. And if you're a fish sauce connoisseur, this is your place. Must have been at least two dozen if not more types of fish sauce.

They also have basic general purpose items you would find at a typical grocery store.

I'd say it's pretty similar to something like a ranch 99 where there's a fish frying section where you can pick out your fish and they'll prepare it for you on the spot.

I picked up a Vietnamese coffee filter so yay! Going to make it when I get home. So good. It's a rainy day today too.

Also picked up a couple instant noodles since I love, but the reviews on Reddit said that the Thai brand Mama was the best. Get the tom yum flavor

All in all, super stoked that the store opened up here literally 5 minutes from the house. I'm thinking Vietnamese theme, Thanksgiving or holiday dinner this year for the family get together. Time to pull out and dust off that Vietnamese cookbook I got a few years ago

Wide selections of products and good prices too. Love that there's a supermarket like this in town. The live crabs and fish is a little too much for me considering that some are dead floating but pretty interesting. Will definitely come often

Went on opening night and again three weeks after. They have a great variety of Asian foods from fresh to frozen. They can deep fry your fish upon order.

Smells like an Asian Supermarket. It's clean, fresh produce. We visited right before Chinese New Year so I didn't blame them for running low on the meat options. It has pretty much everything an Asian household needs.

Coming from someone that isn’t Asian, I can’t say much about this store compared to other asian stores but from what I can say that it really is stocked up with a bunch of items. It’s your decently sized supermarket so not too big nor too small, this store carries a lot of asian items from spices and sauces, to a whole live seafood counter, to specific dishes and plates and a whole lot more. I did notice when walking through the store that this store does carry a little bit of your typical “American brands” that you would find in Walmart such as some specific butter brands, snacks, and some other items. I went right in the morning when they opened so I can’t say much about how packed this place is or about the customers, but I did notice when walking past the seafood counter that one of the staff and a customer were speaking in a different language, which I’m pretty sure must’ve been nice to do since this town is primarily Hispanic. If you do plan on coming by I would reccomend planning time to visit because this store has a LOT to offer ᵕ̈

I was primarily interested in the miso paste so that’s the only photos I got of this place, but I highly recommendvisiting here if you’re looking for more ingredients for asian cuisine

Absolutely disgusting in their fish market! The live tanks stink and had live fish with fungus growing on them, dead fish all over the tanks. The fish in the iced section some of them look and smell a week old. There is no way I’d ever buy meat from them!!!

Produce dept was nice and fresh though and good selection of Asian products in sauces, frozen section and cookware.

I was there about a month after store had a grand opening. I was sad to see store's condition. It wasn't kept clean. The fish fry basket n area was already too nasty; greasy n unclean. Secondly, the strong stink that some seafood n meat places have was unbearable here! Lastly, the fishes aren't fresh. They sit in huge igloo's on the floor in a room behind the fish area. When I was there, I saw the door open and I saw it. I felt disgusted. Didn't return 😕
