First I would like to thank the staff at Slick Audio, they have always been extremely polite...I had a DAW PC built some years ago maybe 6 or 7..and it has been a workhorse...zero issues ever...recently my cmos battery died...so it went to default...I called up Slick..And Chris put a work ticket in...I thought this might take days or weeks to resolve...I got an email in two minutes with a time for the very next day....that's what I call 10 out of 10 tech support...Dave resolved my issue in minutes...I would highly recommend this team to build your next Audio pc...I know I'm going to have them build me my next one....Thanks a million guys.

This is my 1 month review of the machine I purchased from Slick Audio.

Yeah, its true; if you build it yourself it will be cheaper. You know what else is cheaper to build yourself? A house, or landscaping the property of your house, or resealing your driveway yourself. Does that mean you should yourself? Hell no. "But its not hard to learn how to build your own computer!" To be honest learning how to construct your own house isn't very hard either, you'd be surprised at how many people do it themselves, but TIME IS MONEY.

Slick Audio offers you one thing that no other PC Builder offers; specific BIOS Coding. In fact, Jim Slick is quite the IT Nerd. He will talk to you about parts, hardware, software, ect. for hours, and I mean hours! When I was considering this company I emailed him a list of questions, and of course a lot of other PC Builders as well. Slick audio was the first to respond, and gave me a call. We spoke for about 45 minutes. He answered all my questions honestly, which gave me greater comfort of mind, and this helped steer me into the specific hardware I needed. Yeah, it was expensive, but I have feeling I won't need to buy another machine for 10 yrs+.

The customer service so far has been outstanding; the best I've experienced from any company. So much so, I want to share a short story of a very recent experience one week ago from this post-

I use the UAD Apollo Twin MKII. Its a great interface, arguably overrated, but I like it. I was having trouble after a few weeks though. My Apollo stopped connecting to the machine; it was quite random. I emailed Slick Audio and they responded that same day; great! I sent them back the computer, AND also provided my Apollo Twin. Of course I naturally blamed the thunderbolt card, result of ignorance, and Slick Audio right away took full responsibility and said they would replace it. I got a call a couple hours after they received my machine!

"Problem is solved. The card is fine, we replaced it anyway, but we had to add bios coding so the Apollo would connect." ... or something like that. To be honest I forget ALL the stuff they told me, like I said this company is IT Nerd 101, which is exactly what you want. We both discovered that UAD is really a company designed for MAC; atm. They had to read the schematics of the Apollo and adjust stuff accordingly @ no charge. (In my opinion this is a huge mistake on Universal Audios end. According to recent statistics 40% of protooIs users have switched from Mac to PC in just a short two year period; 2016-2018. WTF UAD!)

The Machine is very clean as the pictures will show, and more importantly IT IS QUIET! Look, I'm a musician and composer. I don't give a s*** about having an acrylic side panel so I can look at the stupid flashing lights. (If it means so much to you just buy an acrylic side panel for the case.) There is some type of sound absorbing padding in the case, but even with the panel off I still can't hear it. Actually, a buddy of mine came over to check it out and after a couple minutes accused of me lying to him about purchasing the computer. He didn't hear or see it. I just smirked and pointed to where I have it placed in the room.

Cable management is fantastic, and air flow is optimal. There are also 6 fans in the case. Only three fans are on at the moment because I don't need anymore; liquid cooling is really the present.

One project I am running has an incredible amount of VSTS and Plugins. Lots of sample libraries through multiple Kontack racks, + Serum, Sylenth, Synthmaster, sample tracks, audio tracks, ect. I'm running all of this at 128sample rate without freezing a single track!!! I thought to myself, "damn this computer must be getting close to capping, I'm probably going to have to start freezing tracks." So I opened up the task manager to see the amount of performance power I was using... 10% LMFAO!

So far I am very pleased. I will post a 3, 6, and 12 month review as time goes on, and links to tracks I have created on this machine. So far, I am very pleased and would highly recommend Slick Audio.

I can't say enough about how supportive Slick Audio has been and still is. Jim and Chris and staff have provided amazing response time and right on the button to my needs. Their follow-up has been unbelievably thorough and the time they take to ensure you are set is beyond compare. :>) The system - well - let's just say - it is the Best Audio Recording Device on the planet - So quiet and efficient - no issues AND I know - I can call Slick Audio to make sure it performs at its peak. I just bought a Slick M593i7 studio computer and I couldn't be happier. This tiny beast completely lays waste to my previous setup. Running Studio One with over 30 tracks and 35+ effects, my last computer couldn't handle the load. My new box just breezes through it. Jim Slick, who I presume is the owner, responded directly to a question I had about shipping and personally made sure it got to me as quickly as possible. Thank you so much, Jim! Jim Slick is a grade A+ guy and that is represented in the service and products from Slick Audio. I set up my home studio completely through him and his company. He put the computer together, installed everything on it, got all of the necessary gear (mics, interface/pre-amp) at very good prices and has been invaluable with answering questions when inevitable issues arise. I give my highest recommendation to Jim Slick and Slick Audio- he is my go to source for all recording equipment/ information.
