Good thrift store prices for home goods items. The cashier was friendly and informative. They have good sales on clothing but it’s a little tricky because they don’t have a fitting room.

This has always been my favorite secondhand store. For a while it seemed like the prices had gone up but after not having gone there for a couple months it seems like they have come back down. They offer discounts on different colored tags even up to 75% off. 95% of the clothing and bedding is gently used, almost new, or nwt condition. They have the best selection of clothing including up-to-date styles. They also have good options for household items and furniture as well as jewelry.

Used to love this place.
My uncle passed suddenly last May and we went later that week to donate his belongings. When we came to drop off, we told the staff member collecting he had passed away. We were told and I quote “well we have to pay to get rid of trash” when they told us they didn’t want his belongings.
A simple “we are not accepting items like this right now” would have been fine rather than telling a grieving family that.
Uncaring and heartless, never going back.

Yesterday I shopped here and witnessed a completely unprofessional interaction between a customer and the manager that left me stunned.

The customer purchased something, went to his car and checked the receipt and discovered he had been overcharged. He was extremely soft spoken and polite about the mistake. The manager told him there was nothing she could do because he left the building. The customer became aggravated, rightfully so, but the manager treated him like a criminal, threw him out of the store and then actually called the police to report harassment. She made a huge scene when she could have simply just checked his items to see if there was a discrepancy.

Seemed like she was just discriminating against the man based on his appearance. Absolutely unprofessional customer service and a terrible waste of city resources. Shame on this store for allowing that manager to go on the power trip she's clearly on.

This store is abysmal. I've been here several times and had one or two good experiences but have also had times where employees talked to me like I was trash and treated me hatefully. I don't know what their hiring practices are at speedway outlets, but they seem to hire some angry people who don't like providing others with good customer service. And they always get on the loud speaker and say children aren't allowed to touch the toys oh but we're the best store in Tucson... Not. Not even close. Hands down, i would say that would be deseret Industries on thornydale. They always have amazing low prices and not once in countless many times have I ever been treated disrespectfully their and the staff are always courteous, friendly and polite. I'm only giving Speedway outlet 1 star because I have to in order to post this review warning others and offering a much better, and cleaner alternative with better prices. I look forward to driving by and seeing Speedway outlet out of business.

Update from 3-7-24:
I found several work pants for my husband at great deals! They even had discounts for colored tags, which I had not encountered here before. I got 75% off yellow tags, 45% off pink tags, and 25% off white tags. Thank you, Speedway Outlet!

I always find great deals here... great selection.

Used to love this place, but lately the quality is just hilariously low. The furniture is now wobbly, dirty, weathered, or outright damaged. Not sure who thought these were worth putting out for people to sell, but this looks like stuff I could pick up on the sidewalk or the dump.

If I could give less stars I absolutely would. This used to be a nice small thrift store when I was younger, just moved back to Tucson and came here to try and get furniture for my fiancee and I's new house.
Right off the bat, before we could even pull in, an employee was standing in the middle of the driveway, staring off to her left and being completely oblivious to the fact that a car (ours) was actively trying to pull into the parking lot off the main road. She did not move, nor even glance in our direction while we struggled to pull in and also not hit her because, once again, she was obliviously standing in the middle and staring off at the road. We suspect someone stole something, but I fail to see how multiple employees standing staring at the road for 10 minutes is going to do anything.

We spent a bit looking at an entertainment center, deciding if we wanted it or not. The same employee as earlier walked up to us, immediately accusatory and demanding to know if "-you guys are the ones dropping stuff back here." (something had fallen off a shelf nowhere near us) She was immediately bitchy and rude. We told her, no, we were just looking at this furniture because we're trying to buy it. She continues being rude and standoffish, somehow remaining accusatory while saying it had to stay here until it was paid for and then she would "move it through the back." We go up to pay, and she walks up to us, again very standoffish and rude, not at all customer service-like. She informs us that while attempting to slide the solid wood, multi-shelf item across a non-flat floor that "Part of it just fell off." She didn't explain anything. Said something about it catching on a tile and then it just broke. Either these people have no idea how to move fragile furniture, or she was continuing her bitchy tyrade and broke it on purpose. Who's to say, I'm obviously not paying full price for a piece of furniture that YOU broke while moving it because for some reason even though I have to load up my own furniture, I'm not allowed to take it out of the store myself.
She offered no apology, nothing. Not even a "Sorry about that." Just "oh yeah it broke.", and then continuing to just stand there instead of giving apologies, offering to show us the damage and see if we still wanted it, nothing. She just stood there. My dad went unaccompanied to look at it and saw it was in fact fully broken, i turned to the cashier, who was just standing there, seemingly clueless, as if it wasn't already painfully clear i no longer wish to purchase the item. So i tried to instead just pay for a chair i had wanted. The employees all still just stood there, staring. After saying "Alright fine, i guess we're saying screw you to this thrift store" to my family and dropping the tag for the item on the counter, the cashier gave a VERY passive aggressive and bitchy "Have a nice day." To which I simply matched that energy with an equally bitchy "You too."
Because if all of your employees are bitchy and rude, and you can't function as a business, or provide ANY customer service, than you don't get customers.

To summarize my issues:
Employee oblivious and blocking the driveway from being entered.
Employee rudely accusing us of breaking things.
Employee overall being very rude amd just plain bitchy.
Actually ALL employees being rude the entire time we were in the store.
Employee breaking the item i wanted.
Employee oblivious to an obvious situation of no longer wanting an item.
Employee being passive aggressive as if the whole situation was not entirely the fault of the business and employees.

What the hell happened to you Speedway Outlet? Get better employees or lose potential customers. Might i also remind that I used to be a long standing customer for years at this store. I move away for a couple years and this happens? You lose my business.
