Not bad, not amazing, but good enough, simple and pleasant. The co-op and its staff do a great job maintaining an independent grocery store. High quality, all the basics, but with interesting specialty items as well. Very good selection of beer and wine too. Proper bread So much more pleasant to shop here than the ghastly chains.

The co-op and its staff do a great job maintaining an independent grocery store. High quality, all the basics, but with interesting specialty items as well. Very good selection of beer and wine too. Proper bread! So much more pleasant to shop here than the ghastly chains.

Was not expecting this little market to be so nice and we were pleasantly surprised. Well stocked with every-day grocery items like grains, produce, flowers, dairy, etc., as well as many fun specialty items. A nice full aisle of wine, beer, and assorted alcoholic beverages. Service with a smile. An overall very pleasant shopping experience. Highly recommend.

A definite big plus is their location across from the Aria Mediterranean restaurant, that doesn't serve alcoholic beverages. So, pop over to Coop and pick a nice bottle to go with your meal!
I also like how they offer a great selection of bulk foods. Unlucky that my short stay in Swarthmore doesn't make it worth the money to participate in their cooperation program to take advantage of the perks. Therefore, I only occasionally bought groceries there. They also have a good selection of wine, but unfortunately and understandingly, overpriced.

I'd give it 5 stars, but it's so darned expensive sometimes. Service is great, variety is great, freshness is great, location is great, but you really have to watch--I almost paid double for dishwashing liquid once and went on to Giant to confirm the markup.

You claim to be inclusive and open minded, which I'm all for.
Then why on earth do you instruct your staff 'not to accept anything Italian' (these are the actual words used at the checkout)?
The Italian thing in question was my driving licence, showing that I'm 41, definitely old enough to buy a bottle of white wine.
It really doesn't make sense.

Expensive and not many vegan options. The veggie rice paper spring rolls (made in house) were really tasty. I made a special trip here thinking there would be a bunch of cool vegan/organic products to try that whole foods/Wegmans doesn't have but was not impressed with selection.
