Came looking for the perfect Sedona tshirt during my vacation. Although they did not have the exact shirt size and style I wanted, they were able to create one for me in just a few minutes since they had the supplies on hand! The gentleman serving my wife and I was very kind, and told us about all the great places to visit while in town. Thanks for chatting and making some memories while we visited!

A store you might miss, if you aren't aware of its location. Between the Cowboy Club and Black Cow Cafe, in the back of the Marketplace, it is a unique treasure trove for those who want to buy souvenirs for others or a gift for themselves. Directly in the back of the fountain is an old-fashioned penny machine, in front of the store. Put a penny in and voila... it is pressed into an imprint of one of Sedona's most known landmarks. From baseball caps, tee shirts, and hoodies hanging on racks with imprints of a Sedona memory or a funny saying. (If you don't see your size on the rack, if available, they will imprint a shirt right in front of you). From baby gifts, girls & boys, women & guys... They have a wonderful selection! Jewelry, handmade knives, outdoor decorations, and even cigars in a humidor. And, it is affordable! Do yourself a favor when shopping in uptown Sedona, check this store out. Friendly salespeople and gifts or souvenirs for whomever you want to buy a gift for at great prices. The Hangin Tree does not disappoint.

The person at the billing counter was extremely rude.

I bought an item from an adjacent store (The Naja) and was holding it in my hand. I was buying a magnet from The Hangin Tree, which I presented at the billing counter. The guy looked at my other hand and asked "That from my store?"
I said "no", then he did something rather unexpected - he grabbed the item from my hand, flipped it around and was trying very hard to read the label on the item. I said - "I got it from the other store, it's not from here."

Not able to find what he was looking for (i.e. proof that it is from his store), he said - "how come they didn't give you bag?"

I said - "because I didn't want a plastic bag".

I live in Seattle and I am used to a very high-trust environment. This entire encounter left a very bitter taste in my mouth and made me wonder he was so distrustful because of some prejudice against my race. I also felt he was staring at me in a distrustful way the whole time I was looking around the store too, as if I was going to steal something.

I later went through the other Google reviews and it did seem like he can be rude to people who is not like him (read: non-white, on the spectrum, etc.)

I would recommend people The Naja instead for almost the same collection and a more amicable experience at the billing counter.

This is the cutest little store! Had all the souvenirs and trinkets I was looking for to remember my trip up to Sedona and the owner was an absolute sweetheart! My necklace broke (that I have had for a long time) and he gave my boyfriend the jewelery tools he needed to fix it. If that doesn’t say small town hospitality idk what does!! ? for sure will be coming back here!!

Went there for the second time and was so pleased with the service! They grabbed a full bag of bracelets for me just because I couldn’t find any on the floor in my size. Amazing service and good quality jewelry! Adding this shop to my list of “to do” every time we visit!

This place deserves no star honestly!
We expect more from a senior dude working in that place we were handled horribly he was super rude to my 12 year old (visibly)autistic son who was by the way with his dad at that time, he barely touched some of "the precious" decorations in the commom area and that old guy extremely rudely said to them "if he touch it one more time he will be out of here" and then he constantly starring at us what sick individual treat a special kid like that! I would love to file a formal complaint i believe he has problem with the color of our skin I've read similar reviews from other "non-white people" what he said was unnecessary if its that prized possession of his "DO NOT PUT THEM ON DISPLAY" he was rude and ill mannered.
Simply Hang a banner outside kids are not allowed or better mention "white only" remove special need accessibility sign from outside because clearly my special need kid was not welcome there.
Somebody help me file a formal complaint against this place too.

Very rude staff. Would not exchange item that was broken. We notice it was broken when we walked away and entered a nearby restaurant for dinner. Came back after dinner and tried to explain. Received accusations and rude tones. I understand it's a small business but we didn't look very closely at the item. They have a sign posted that exchanges are accepted up to 14 days. But the response I received was that if they exchange it then they'll have a broken one. How is that good customer service?
