Nordic Home is more than just a store – it's a portal to a world of warmth, comfort, and exquisite design. Stepping inside feels like stepping into an aesthetic reprieve from the Anchorage norm.

The first thing that hits you is the visual feast. The store is a beautifully curated haven of furniture, textiles, and homeware, all boasting clean lines, functionality, and a timeless elegance. Think soft, inviting textures like sheepskin throws and chunky knit blankets juxtaposed with sleek wooden furniture in light, natural tones. The lighting is warm and inviting, casting a gentle glow on the beautiful displays.

But Nordic Home isn't just about aesthetics. The quality of the products is truly top-notch. From the sturdy, hand-crafted furniture built to last Alaskan winters to the luxurious, yet practical, wool throws, everything feels built with love and designed to bring comfort and joy to your home.

What truly elevates the experience is the staff. Rachel is fantastic. The friendly and knowledgeable team is like having your own personal design consultants. They are passionate about design and take the time to understand your needs and style preferences. Whether you're browsing for a statement piece or seeking a complete home makeover, they offer expert advice and suggestions without a hint of pressure.

In conclusion, Nordic Home is a gem in the heart of Anchorage. It offers exceptional quality products, stunning design aesthetics, and a staff that goes above and beyond. If you're looking to bring a touch of warmth and functionality into your home, look no further – Nordic Home is a must-visit!

Beautiful store. Great quality products and their candles are my favorite! Perfect style for the Alaskan home. They even sell Scandinavian candy and other food imports, in addition to books. Highly recommend.

What a truly pleasant place to browse around. So many tasteful items to consider. Scented candles give you a sense of tranquility in our fast-paced living. I only bought a couple of beautiful candles, but this place will be my occasional place to breathe and relax.

The Nordic Home has an excellently curated variety of home goods and furniture. One of my favorite stores in Anchorage.

I recently purchased IKEA furniture from their 'sister' store AK Overstock. I had some issues with the movers I hired to deliver and assemble the furniture and the folks at AK Overstock went above and beyond to help. They exhibited an exceptional level of customer support and care that is so hard to find these days. Genuinely nice people who want their customers to have a good experience, which is much appreciated. I have nothing but great things to say about the store, it's owners and staff.

I found myself recommending this place in a reply to a post on Reddit, and realized I really needed to take the time to come here and post a review on Google because I love this place and they deserve to be thanked. This is a locally-owned, totally unique and artistic storefront and online business. I truly hope they are able to weather the current economic conditions, because it would be a real shame to lose them from our town. These are the types of businesses that keep Anchorage interesting, inspiring, and livable. (See also: Blush, Side Street Espresso, even Skinny Raven. Local people who know good things and good customer service, who take out big loans and leverage everything to work for a living by serving the community, who demonstrate high ethics, and yet still struggle almost every day to stay open.)

If you haven’t been here, check it out and spread the word! Or if you’re not up for the in-person experience right now, cruise around their website — it’s easy and fun — and don’t hesitate to call with any questions or special requests. Staff couldn’t be easier to work with: super smart (in a way that only makes things better) and friendly, never pushy or obnoxious.

The Nordic Home on Lake Otis and Tudor... (has) great floor models and will also order from anywhere at great shipping rates. You can even place orders with sites that say they won’t ship to Alaska, through Nordic Home. For instance, they can usually get things here from Wayfair at less cost and more quickly than folks can get when ordering directly. You don’t have to shop through them, to ship through them. Instead, you tell them what you want to get up here and they make it happen within a workable timeframe and at a more-than-fair (as compared to other options) price.

The owners are awesome — young and forward-thinking, great eye, reasonable prices, friendly without being overbearing. They carry a range of price points, from Ikea to beautiful handcrafted specialty items using fine fabrics. Also lots of affordable and stylish interior design accent pieces, imported foods, tasteful jewelry, nice soaps and hand creams, charming greeting cards, cute gifts for kids and families. (This all sounds intimidating or expensive but I promise you it’s not.)

Buy local and opt for quality! Often it’s cheaper in the long run and it’s always more pleasurable overall. Shop curated stores like this, watch for sales if you’re on a tight budget — but either way, be selective and only buy what you really like. You’ll definitely come out ahead of where you might have been otherwise, with mass-market discount (and even supposedly “higher end”) shopping options.
