Another fabulous cake from Alexis!! Second wedding shower and the cake was absolutely perfect!! I am a cake snob and would not think of going anywhere other than the Novel Baker. Alexis designed the perfect cake to fit our ‘pearl and oyster’ theme but the taste was what impressed everyone. Chocolate chip pound cake with cream cheese icing. So delicious!! This local business is a real gem and I cannot wait to order another cake from the Novel Baker!! Thanks so much!

A late, but very heartfelt thank you to Alexis and the Novel Baker for the excellent desserts she made for my daughter’s bridal shower in June.
Every item was perfect and Alexis was a pleasure to work with. I stopped in without an appointment and she took time to speak with me about my event and ultimately helped me choose the perfect items.
On the day of pick up, her husband helped carry items to my car and gave great advice for safely transporting them to the restaurant.
I received so many compliments on all the desserts but the cake was the most spectacular item! In fact, it was so delicious that one week later I ordered a small cake for my mom’s birthday and again, Alexis delivered a gorgeous cake.

The Novel Baker is a gem tucked away in Dublin- and now my go-to bakery for everything sweet.

We have been visiting since the shop in Dublin. The cupcakes/cakes are decadent and divine! We recently took a class in the new location and had an absolutely wonderful time. The store is gorgeous, wonderful music, and Alexis is a great teacher. She willing to share all the techniques and tips she has learned to build beautiful cakes. Highly recommended!

My husband recently planned my baby shower with the Novel Baker. I have always loved everything that Alexis creates and was thrilled when I found out that she was making my baby shower cake and sweets. I loved that my husband and Alexis incorporated all of my favorite sweets and that my love for baby white owls were in so many of the items she made for me. I can’t decide if the baby owl cookies or the pink cake with the white owl with flower crown was my favorite. The detail in every delicious treat and cakes that she makes is SO incredibly beautiful and the visual experience is unforgettable.

I especially loved that she made sure my go-to favorites were included which are madeleines (I think she snuck those in without my husband knowing! Of course, even those were presented on a pretty plate with fresh roses. My guests enjoyed each item on our sweet table and complimented the taste and look during the shower and even days afterward.

Everything Alexis does is beautiful and delicious. The care she puts into each order we’ve placed with her is heartwarming. To see an owner, especially in times like these work so hard is a beautiful thing. My COVID shower was just fabulous because Alexis at the Novel Baker made sure it would be.

I first used Alexis for my wedding cake 3 years ago and it was absolutely fabulous. Everyone raved about it so naturally I couldn’t wait for an excuse to have her do the cake for my son’s 1st birthday party! She exceeded expectations as always. We did chocolate chip pound cake with Oreo filling and it was delicious. She happened to do my Niece’s wedding cake the day before as well so we got TWO days in a row of Novel Baker cakes, what a treat! We cannot thank Alexis and the Novel Baker team enough for all of the hard work they put into our wedding desserts. To start, we very much enjoyed our tasting with Alexis. She offers so many delicious cake and frosting flavors to choose from! We ended up ordering a smaller single tier cake along with an assortment of cupcakes. From the time of our tasting to our wedding day we had consistent communication and Alexis would answer any and all questions I threw her way. Her husband, Al, went out of his way to deliver our items to our venue which helped make our big day run smoothly. Our display table looked beautiful and is just what we pictured. My husband and I enjoyed the cake and our guests raved about all of the yummy options we had available.

This isn't the first time we've had a dessert from the Novel Baker - Alexis made cake pops for our engagement, cupcakes for my bridal shower, and has made a dessert for just about every other family celebration we have had in the recent years. All of them have been absolutely incredible and I highly recommend Alexis and the Novel Baker.

My husband and I used The Novel Baker for our wedding cake last year and the cake looked beautiful and also tasted delicious! I especially liked the fresh flowers and greenery for the decoration on the cake, you can see it in the picture below. We got many compliments on it and people said they really liked it.
The other picture is of our anniversary cake we just received last week. Alexis has this ADORABLE and really practical tradition that she will bake you an anniversary cake for free <3 this way you don't have to freeze your cake topper to eat on your 1 year anniversary. Also, the bakery is really cute and has a bunch of fun events to go to on the weekends. Can't recommend The Novel Baker enough!
