They have Great merchandise. The owners may next want to invest in quality sale staff. We will definitely not be returning. Don't be disappointed, just shop elsewhere! Lots of other quality shops in town. The other shopkeepers even speak to you when you walk in. The other shopkeepers answer and ask questions to help you with your purchasing needs. ( they are pricey, we need to be sure) Other shopkeepers in town thank you for shopping with them. ( They know you can shop somewhere else.) They appreciate your business! So they tell you thank you for coming in today. Perhaps send your angry older lady employee onto other shops in town to observe customer service. Also, have her note the many more purchases the happy customers buy when they have a kind person willing to do the job they are paid to do.

Wandered in on a cold rainy day. Inside was also freezing as the front door was open. I commented to the sales lady that it was really cold inside (not conducive to wanted to shop, try on or buy) and she said people wouldn’t know they were open if the door wasn’t open although there was an “open” sign in the window and we were the only people in there, so clearly this marketing tactic is not working. Her suggestion was to shop upstairs since it was warmer…lol we didn’t stay long because it was freezing in there. Unfortunate, as it was a lovely store with beautiful high end merchandise. She directed us upstairs to the sale room which was also very pricey then proceeded to follow us up there… in the tiny sale closet (to watch us)..hovering really obviously. We were dressed well, not sketchy looking at all. Every other store in town we shopped at had the nicest friendliest staff that we enjoyed visiting with and purchasing from, not this store.

so disappointing to come across a beautiful, curated boutique but have to deal with rude, stuck up and unfriendly salespeople. the older woman with grey hair and chunky highlights made fun of me to another staff member because i tried on a bag i was about to buy in the mirror. i was so close to saying, ‘am i not allowed to try on the $300 bag i’m about to buy?’ - but didn’t, because these women are never worth it. she also made a point to come up to me while i was browsing and tell me where the sale section was, as if i couldn’t afford their regular retail prices.

occasionally, these kinds of comments are not maliciously intended in the slightest, but i could tell that these were meant to be rude. i felt her negative and predatory vibe from the second i walked in - never coming here again.

Stopped here on a road trip up the California coast. I was expecting a tiny boutique in such a small town but it’s a huge two-story store and so gorgeous. The interior itself is beautiful and feels like an Anthropologie or something (but you know, local and better). Lots of brands that I have seen on Instagram and it was fun to see them in person. Wasn’t expecting the cute kids section upstairs with clothes, toys, and wall decor. The girls working there are really nice. Must stop in Mendocino.

80% of the wide collection of products are great and nice proper quality well sourced. However some items such as the "rails" brand are low quality garbage thrown in with good stuff just either to increase profit margins or out of lack of researching brands. Most of the staff is very friendly and very helpful when looking for anything you might need. There is the exception of one worker with grey hair. She's very pushy and unfriendly every single time, any time that she's working i just leave and come back another time and everyone is much friendlier. Love shopping here though and definitely recommend making it a staple shopping location for anyone anytime anywhere.

Can’t recommend this store enough! I’m surprised by some of these reviews since I had such a lovely experience this morning. Great customer service and an impressive collection of well curated products. I purchased both clothing and home goods as well as gifts for the holidays. I just wish I had a store like this in my hometown!

What a lovely looking boutique I happened upon. The awe and delight at the treasures before my eyes was completely destroyed with the saleswoman's behavior. I wasn't aware if it was membership shopping only. As I didn't see a sign warning public shoppers to not shop here, I am under the impression the snarling saleswoman is the only Deturent to public shoppers. Please save our feelings and time, Posting a shoppers not welcome sign out front! Good thing she was working that day, We discovered an amazing boutique called Folklore! I wa able to buy for not only the bride and groom but the gifts for the whole wedding party! They actually get a lot of customers that have experienced the same saleswoman. She is great for Folklore business!

The Study Club has impeccable customer service and a curated selection worthy of Barney's in its heyday. I always go out of my way to make the trip and shop when I am on the North Coast! So many of my favorite and bespoke items are from this shop, absolutely recommend.
