Tara's involvement extended far beyond the initial sorting process. She coordinated every aspect of the move, from carefully packing and coordinating with the moving company to unpacking and decorating her new home. Throughout the entire process, Tara kept us informed daily about the progress and the associated costs, which provided us with peace of mind.

On the day of the move, Tara's expertise allowed me to focus on my mom and provide her with much-needed emotional support. I had the opportunity to take her out to lunch, and with excitement and anticipation, we drove to Birmingham for the big reveal of her new home.

Walking into her new space was a magical moment. Tara and her team had decorated it perfectly to my mom's liking, making it feel remarkably similar to her old home. The way they managed to recreate that sense of familiarity was incredible. In my mom's own words, "It feels like the same place, but in a new space."

I can't express how thankful I am to Tara and everyone at Trading Places for transforming what could have been a stressful and negative experience into a delightfully positive one. Their expertise, dedication, and genuine care made all the difference. We used Trading Places to move my mother from her home out of state to a smaller living arrangement closer to family in Birmingham. The communication with Tara was great and she was very clear about what their services were and how they could support Mama's move. Tara drove over (several hours each way!) a couple of times before the actual move to interview my mom and our family to get a feel for her previous decorating style, what furniture pieces were important to her, what things she wanted to keep for her new walls, etc. It was Tara's primary goal to make our mom feel comfortable and at ease in her new environment. They even got the paint color from her old home to put on her new walls! (We opted to have fresh paint and carpet installed before Mama moved in.) The day of the pack-out, Tara and her team were there early and ran out to get boxes and supplies as needed as well as anything else to help the process go smoothly. Then they loaded some precious, valuable things in their van and drove them directly to Mama's new apartment hours away for us. Then, the \ designers at Trading Places took the furniture she already had and the information that Tara gathered and made a BEAUTIFUL new home! Mama has been there for 2 months now and still exclaims over how much she loves her new apartment. She can't get over how "at home" she feels in a brand new place because she is surrounded by her favorite things and her colors; she hasn't moved a thing! We are so appreciative of this family-run and family-oriented business that made a difficult transition so much easier for us. This service by Trading Places was exactly what we needed to assistance us in relocating my elderly mother-in-law from her single-family residence in Pell City to a memory care assisted living facility near Greystone. Brion and Tara, the owners of Trading Places, measured the apartment to which my MIL was moving; then they met with us at my MIL's house so we could select furniture and furnishings that she would enjoy in her new apartment and that would comfortably fit in the space available. They designed placement of the furniture in the new apartment and, on the designated moving day, their crew picked up the furniture, pictures and clothing and transported everything to the memory care unit. They placed the pictures on the wall and had my MIL's clothes hanging in her closets when they finished. The move itself was completed from start to finish in one day. I was able to arrange all of this with phone calls, photos and email. They saved me from securing a truck, conscripting some friends and lifting the heavy stuff on both ends of the moving trip. This was a turn-key service that was a great convenience in relocating my elderly relative. And it was surprisingly affordable! Trading Places is more than just a moving company since they had the new apartment looking and feeling like home on the day that my MIL moved in. Brion and Tara were very easy to work with and I would highly recommend them and their service.

Tara, Winton and Brion were such a huge help to our family while we were moving my in-laws out of state to be closer to us. My in-laws were downsizing from a big two story house to a significantly smaller two bedroom apartment. Tara’s team wrapped and packed everything up for the big move. Tara prepared a scaled mock up of the new apartment in order to mentally place all of the furniture in the new apartment before arriving there, which was incredibly helpful in visualizing the new space. Her entire team was very professional. Tara thoughtfully presented them with a decorated gift bag full of snacks for their road trip to their new home!
