This place is amazing -- can't say enough good things about the commitment to fostering a community of diverse voices. To boot, the place is cozy, is offering free space for co-working twice a week (think it is 10am to 1pm on Tuesday and Thursday) and Friday is "Silent Shopping." Those running it are super friendly and generous. Excited to join the book club! Such a gem in Monrovia....and they also sell local artisan's wares, so there is shopping of all sorts, and very interesting books...went to open mic night and that was a lot of fun...just a great community....and then went next door to Paris Baguette to top if off! Hope you'll join!

I was so excited when this new bookstore opened up down the street from me. Its a great and welcome addition to our community. The selection of books is so beautifully curated by the owners and they feature some great local vendors too. Even though the store space is small, they somehow magically manage to pack it with something for everyone, and I never leave empty handed. Everyone is so welcoming I could spend HOURS here. They also host amazing programming, book talks and community events. I love having such a welcoming and diverse space in our town. Definitely 10 out of 10 would recommend.

I absolutely love Underdog book store! The environment is very welcoming and friendly. I love the vast variety of books, beautiful candles and greeting cards. There are always fun and interesting invents happening at this amazing venue bringing the community and local artists together. Underdog Bookstore is such a friendly, open, and helpful bookstore that the city of Monrovia is lucky to have! Although their book selection is not as expanse as a chain store, the books that they do carry on hand are amazing. If not, they also told me and helped me order specific requests of mine. In addition to books, they sell tote bags and stickers (super adorable!). They have many community events that help people feel included and I can’t wait to go back again!

So excited to see a new bookstore for me to haunt! I love the design, love the selection, love the vision. The owners are fantastic, had a mishap with a coloring book we bought there (publisher’s error, not theirs) and they immediately fixed the problem as well as validated the feelings I had about the situation. We will definitely be adding this store to our book addiction supplier list 😉
